On May 23, 2024, our co-founder and CEO, Dr. Selina Chew, had the honor of speaking to Medical Officers at JKNS Hospital Serdang. In her talk titled “Beyond the White Coat – What Are the Career Paths for Doctors Beyond Hospital & Clinical,” Dr. Selina shared insights on alternative career paths available to doctors outside traditional clinical settings.
In line with our mission at Disruptive Doctors, Dr. Selina discussed our vision of breaking down barriers for doctors and connecting them with new opportunities within healthcare. She highlighted emerging roles that allow doctors to impact healthcare differently—whether through digital health, health tech start-ups, or non-clinical pathways in medical education, research, and administration.
Dr. Selina also touched on how technology is transforming healthcare, opening doors to careers that align with doctors’ expertise and passions but take them “beyond the white coat.” Her talk was an inspiring reminder that doctors today are not limited to clinical work; they can leverage their skills to influence healthcare from various angles, contribute to advancements, and address gaps in patient care.
