Kuala Lumpur, 19-20 August 2023 – The Healthcare Diverse Careers Conference & Exhibition 2023, hosted by Disruptive Doctors, was an unforgettable two-day event held at the Sime Darby Convention Centre. Under the theme “Redefining a Doctor’s Role in Healthcare,” we brought together over 350 doctors eager to explore a wide range of opportunities within and beyond clinical practice.
Expanding Career Horizons for Doctors
This event was more than just a conference; it was a movement designed to redefine what’s possible for doctors. Across the two days, we hosted discussions, panels, and workshops covering leadership, technology, and non-clinical pathways. Our engaging topics ranged from leadership in healthcare to diverse careers in pharmaceuticals, and from aesthetics to technology.

- Specialist Pathways Forum: Esteemed speakers like Prof Emeritus Dato’ Dr. Lokman Saim, Dato Dr. Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus, Dato’ Dr. Azman Abu Bakar, and Prof Dato’ Dr. Hanafiah Harunarashid led a powerful discussion on “Why It’s So Difficult to Become a Specialist in Malaysia.”
- Opportunities in Aesthetics: Experts such as Prof Dr. Ramamurthy, Dr. UsHa Hoh, Dr. Kee Yong Seng, and Dr. Ginny Ooi shared their insights on the growing opportunities for doctors in aesthetic medicine.
- Doctors in Tech: Azran Osman-Rani captivated audiences with “The Evolving Role of Doctors in Technology: Disruption and Adaptability.”
- Financial Planning for Doctors: Malek Ali provided practical advice on financial planning for doctors considering non-clinical careers.
The event was officially launched by Mohd Safuan Mohd Zairi, Chief Ecosystem Development Officer at MRANTI, adding an extra layer of significance and support.

In addition to these thought-provoking sessions, we welcomed 25 exhibitors to showcase resources and opportunities for doctors. MRANTI brought a lineup of innovative startups to their pavilion, creating a space for doctors to explore cutting-edge solutions in healthcare. Many doctors expressed gratitude, sharing that this was a rare opportunity to access such a breadth of resources under one roof and connect with like-minded professionals.
