At Disruptive Doctors, we believe that innovation is the key to transforming healthcare. Our H-Innovators Challenge embodies this belief, aiming to bring healthcare professionals together across borders to exchange groundbreaking ideas and create lasting impact. The program was conceived to empower doctors, students, and other healthcare professionals to address real-world healthcare challenges with creativity, practical insight, and technological advancement.
The H-Innovators Challenge finals, held on 11 th August 2024 as part of our Healthcare Revolution Conference, was a show of exceptional talent within our community. Over the course of two months, participants refined their ideas and prototypes, bringing their concepts to a thrilling final round. Before an audience of 250 doctors, our six finalist teams—BERTH, AED, ZURGISYNC, TECH2OOLS, BRI-O, and MEDTECH ACCENTURE—delivered compelling pitches, each one promising to revolutionize healthcare in unique ways.
As they took to the stage, the finalists faced not only the discerning scrutiny of our esteemed judges—Bikesh Lakhmichand, Dr. Muslimah Ithnin, and Dr. Prathaban Raju—but were also grilled by their fellow doctors in the audience, each question challenging them to demonstrate the robustness and real-world application of their ideas. This intense questioning highlighted the spirit of camaraderie and constructive feedback that drives our community.
After an intense competition, two outstanding teams emerged victorious. In the Professional/Doctor Group, TECH2OOLS, led by Kuhan Kanagaratnam and Loshiniy Vijayan, won with their tool, DEBRI2OOL, which enhances the precision and safety of debridement in wound care. In the Student Group, MEDTECH ACCENTURE, represented by Aiman Haziq bin Hairel Anuar, Stefanny Julia Justine, Nur Masita Binti Mohd Esa, TheebhaK Parasuraman, and Yong Tzia Yiong, impressed the judges and audience alike with their Automated Vital Signs Documentation Extension Device (AVD-Ex), an automated system designed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of patient care.
Both winning teams took home prize money of up to RM2000, generously sponsored by Serious Games Asia from Singapore, along with other exciting rewards. Our distinguished judges presented the awards, while our partners at 1337 Ventures provided invaluable support to make the event truly special.
This incredible event showcased the power of collaboration and innovation in healthcare and underscored the value of doing healthcare differently.
