Yes. But you need a doctor who’s willing to ask that question – and brave enough to answer it for themselves. Dr. Cecilliann Veronica did both.
She started where most Malaysian doctors start: conventional training, this time at Kursk State Medical University in Russia. She came back home and co-founded a clinic. And then she left it. Not because she failed. Because she wanted to do more than the clinic was set up to do. The work there had moved toward aesthetic medicine, and that wasn’t the medicine she came here for. So she went deeper. She found integrative medicine, then integrative oncology. She faced backlash from oncologists who thought she was going too far. She kept going anyway. Then her own body gave her the hardest test of all. A brain tumour. Small, but sitting right in the middle of her brain. Migraines.
A conventional doctor recommending open brain surgery. She chose a different path – one that avoided the memory loss and lasting neurological damage that open surgery could have caused. She healed. And she brought everything she learned back into her practice. Today, she works at AS Clinic in Kuala Lumpur, specialising in integrative oncology, regenerative medicine, and peptide therapy. She’s impacting healthcare differently by treating patients the way she’d want to be treated: with the full range of what medicine can actually do.
